Barracuda on the Beach

Barracuda on the Beach is the beachfront outpost of Koh Tao's well-known Barracuda restaurant family, sitting right on Sairee Beach at Hydronauts. It opened in 2024 and did the obvious thing: it put the tables where they belong, on the sand, facing the water.

Seafood with your feet in the sand

The kitchen leans into fresh fish and seafood, cooked with a Thai and Burmese fusion touch, alongside sharing plates and cocktails. It carries the Barracuda name, which on Koh Tao has long been shorthand for seafood done properly, and brings that reputation down onto the beach.

It works two ways. Come in the afternoon straight off a dive boat for a relaxed late lunch, or settle in as the sun drops. Sairee faces west, so the sunset lands right in front of you, drink in hand and the tide a few steps away.
