Bakery & café · Chalok
A French bakery and all-day café in the quiet south, at Chalok.
Croissant & Ko is a French-style bakery and all-day café tucked into Chalok Baan Kao, in the quieter south of Koh Tao. Part boulangerie, part bistro, part deli, it's the kind of place you mean to pop into for a coffee and leave two hours later having also sorted breakfast, lunch and a tub of gelato for the walk home.
It starts as a bakery: fresh baguettes, croissants and pastries out of the oven each morning. From there the day rolls on, breakfast (French and English plates, eggs benedict, smoothie bowls), lunch from around 11:00 (sandwiches, poke bowls, pizzas), and dinner (salads, pasta, cold cuts, and burgers with homemade fries). It's genuinely all-day food, which on a dive island is rarer than it should be.
Beyond the plates there are more than twenty flavours of homemade gelato, wines and draft beer, a generous after-dive happy hour, and a big communal table that seats up to fourteen, so solo travellers rarely eat alone. They deliver across the south of the island, and supply pastries and bread to plenty of other Koh Tao kitchens too.
You'll find Croissant & Ko in Chalok Baan Kao, in the south of Koh Tao. Reach them on +66 80 148 8650 or cak.kohtao@gmail.com, and see the full menu at croissantandko.com. (Note: the brand also runs cafes on nearby Koh Phangan, this is the Koh Tao branch.)
