Koh Tao Beach Parties

Fire on the sand, music by the water, and the island easiest way to meet people.

If you picture Thailand nightlife as fire on the sand and music by the water, Koh Tao delivers, without the crush of the bigger islands. Beach parties here are frequent, walkable and friendly: you can wander the length of Sairee and find something on most nights of the week.

Where the beach parties happen

Sairee Beach is the stage. Its bars line the sand for close to two kilometres, and after sunset they turn into the island main party strip. You do not need a plan or a ticket for most of it: follow the music along the beach and join whichever crowd feels right. Barefoot, buckets, and the sea a few steps away.

Fire shows and the Full Moon feeling

Fire shows are a nightly fixture on Sairee, spinning poi and skipping ropes of flame that pull a crowd within minutes. If you have heard of Koh Phangan Full Moon party next door, this is the same spirit at a smaller, more relaxed scale, and it runs all month rather than once. Watch from a safe distance and never join the fire skipping after a few buckets.

Pool parties and beach clubs

For a daytime-into-night option, the Sairee beach clubs run pool and beach parties, usually kicking off in the afternoon and rolling on into the evening. They are a great way to spend a no-dive day, and an easy place to meet other travellers before the beach bars get going.

When are they on?

Beach parties, fire shows and pool sessions rotate through the week and change with the season, so the smart move is to check a live, up-to-date agenda rather than trust a fixed schedule. See the events page for this week line-up, and the wider nightlife guide for the bars, jungle parties and cabaret beyond the beach.
