Getting here

No airport. That's the point.

Every route ends with a ferry across open water: from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Samui or Phuket. We mapped every combination of night train, bus, plane and boat.

Good to know

Quick answers.

When is the best time to visit Koh Tao?

February to April brings the calmest seas and best visibility. Whale shark sightings peak March to October. November and December are monsoon season: beautiful, but ferries occasionally cancel.

How much does a day on Koh Tao cost?

Backpackers manage on ฿800 to ฿1,200 a day (bungalow, street food, scooter). Mid-range comfort runs ฿2,500 to ฿4,000. Dive courses are extra, but among the cheapest on Earth.

How long should I stay?

Four days minimum if you are doing an Open Water course. A week lets you add the viewpoints, a boat trip and a proper lazy beach day. Many people simply never leave.

How do I get event tickets?

Each event page tells you who runs it and how to get in. Where the organizer sells online we link you straight there; otherwise message us on WhatsApp and we point you to the right person. We don't sell tickets on this site.

How do I book a boat trip?

Every trip page shows indicative prices and an Enquire on WhatsApp button. We run trips with trusted local operators; they confirm availability, price and pickup with you directly.

Do I have to dive?

Not at all. Snorkelling here rivals diving elsewhere, and the hikes, beaches, food and nightlife fill a trip on their own.
